Holidays

Full-time workers have a statutory entitlement to 28 days annual leave each year. Employers are free to include Bank Holidays in the statutory entitlement as well as offer more than the statutory minimum.

Holiday pay for part-time workers is calculated on a pro-rata basis based on the number of days worked each week. (e.g., an employee working three days per week is entitled to 16.8 days each week.)

Holiday leave begins accruing on the first day of works and employees earn holiday pay on sick leave, maternity, paternity and adoption leave. Any unused annual holiday is paid when an employee leaves employment whether voluntarily or dismissed.
