Coronavirus Update: Statutory Sick Pay Rules

DLP will continue to update employers about changes during the coronavirus outbreak in the UK.

SSP Rules published and go into effect today.

The new guidance adds that any worker “isolating himself from other people in such a manner as to prevent infection or contamination with coronavirus disease, in accordance with guidance published by [health authorities]” is eligible for sick pay.

The regulations will be in effect until November 13.

It does not appear the regulations changing SSP from Day 4 to Day 1 or allowing employers to recoup costs from Government are published yet. DLP will notify you should that change.
